The Community
Asset Project’s
Mission:
To build committed community partnerships that promote developmental
assets ensuring all children maximize their life skills and academic
potential.
The partnership that CAP has with the Cherry Creek School District impacts over 50,000 students and their families through many youth leadership trainings and other asset building initiatives.
The work of CAP enriches young peoples lives with protective factors - the 40 developmental assets that help youth to grow into healthy, motivated and responsible adults. The research is clear: When youth have over 30 of the developmental assets they have a proven deterrent to negative behaviors such as tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.
What Are Assets?
Developmental assets are the basic life skills and attributes that
are critical building blocks for young people's successful growth
and development.
